Telescopic Material Handling

Telehandlers for Lift Height, Forward Reach and Rough-Site Handling

Xinghao telehandlers combine vertical lift, forward outreach and attachment flexibility for agriculture, construction, industrial yards and other mixed-terrain applications. Select the machine from rated capacity, required lift height, maximum forward reach, capacity at the working position, terrain, steering requirement and attachment—not from nominal tonnage alone.

2.5 Ton Compact low-profile class
3–3.5 Ton General 7 m class
4 Ton 13.5–18 m high-reach class
4WD Used across current core models

Quick Selection

Which Telehandler Class Should You Compare First?

Low Doorways / Tight Farms Start with the compact 2.5 ton class when overall machine size is the main constraint.
General 7 m Work Compare 3–3.5 ton models for routine pallet, bucket and mixed-site handling.
10 m+ Material Placement Move to a 4 ton high-reach platform and check residual capacity at the real working height.
Long Forward Outreach Use the load chart to confirm capacity at the required boom extension before choosing.

Load Chart

Rated Capacity Is Not Capacity at Maximum Height or Reach

A telehandler changes load geometry as the boom lifts and extends. The rated capacity therefore cannot be assumed at every point in the working envelope.

The current 4 ton 17.6 m configuration is a clear example: it is rated at 4,000 kg, but published data lists 2,500 kg at maximum height and 700 kg at maximum forward reach.

  • Maximum load weight
  • Load dimensions and center of gravity
  • Required lift height
  • Required forward outreach
  • Attachment weight and geometry
  • Outrigger condition if applicable

Request the Exact Load Chart

Do not approve a telehandler from maximum capacity and maximum height listed in separate brochure lines.

Ask for the capacity at the actual boom angle and extension required by the job.

Worksite Geometry

The Machine Must Fit the Route before It Reaches the Load

Overall Width Check gates, barn doors, construction lanes and loading access.
Cab Height Important for low sheds, covered yards and transport access.
Turning Radius Multi-mode steering can help, but model geometry still controls maneuvering space.
Ground Clearance Check ruts, uneven ground, ramps and site obstacles against the selected model.
Application Fit

Match the Telehandler to the Actual Jobsite Task

Agriculture & Forestry

Pallets, hay bales, feed, bulk material and attachments where rough ground and compact maneuvering matter.

Construction

Place pallets, blocks and materials at height or across obstacles using the approved load chart.

Industrial Yards

Use forward reach and attachment flexibility where conventional counterbalance handling cannot reach the load position.

Attachment Selection

Attachments Change Both the Task and the Load Moment

Pallet Forks Standard material placement where pallet geometry and fork entry are known.
Bucket Bulk material handling where hydraulic demand and bucket volume must be confirmed.
Bale / Material Clamp Agricultural or irregular loads requiring a dedicated attachment interface.
Work Platform Only where the selected machine, platform and local rules permit the intended personnel task.

Attachment mass and forward thickness can change the effective load center. Request a revised capacity check whenever the attachment differs from the standard fork carriage.

Equipment Boundary

A Telehandler Is Not the Best Machine for Every Handling Job

Use a Standard Forklift When

The load only needs vertical counterbalance handling on a suitable yard or warehouse route.

Compare Diesel Forklifts →

Use Rough-Terrain Forklift When

Rough ground is the primary challenge but telescopic forward reach is not required.

Compare Rough Terrain Equipment →

Use High-Reach Telehandler When

Material must be placed above or beyond an obstacle and the required point falls inside the approved load chart.

FAQ

Telehandler Buying Questions

How do I choose the right telehandler capacity? +

Start with maximum load weight and dimensions, then define the required height and forward reach. Confirm the capacity at that actual boom position, not only the rated capacity.

Can a 4 ton telehandler lift 4 tons to 18 meters? +

Do not assume this. Current 4 ton extended-reach data shows lower capacity at maximum height and maximum outreach. Request the exact load chart for the selected mast and boom configuration.

What is the difference between a telehandler and a forklift? +

A telehandler uses a telescopic boom to provide vertical lift and forward outreach. A conventional counterbalance forklift primarily raises the carriage vertically. The correct machine depends on terrain and load placement geometry.

Do all Xinghao telehandlers use the same engine and transmission? +

No. Current models use different Kubota, Yuchai, Cummins or other engine configurations, and hydraulic or transmission specifications vary by model. Confirm one complete configuration before order.

When do I need outriggers on a telehandler? +

Outriggers are used on selected high-reach configurations and affect the approved load chart. Their use should follow the exact machine configuration, ground condition and operating instructions.

What information should I send for a telehandler quote? +

Send maximum load weight and dimensions, required lift height and forward reach, attachment requirement, ground and ramp conditions, access width and height, engine or emission requirement, quantity and destination.

Telehandler Configuration

Send the Load Position, Not Just the Maximum Tonnage

We use the load, required height, forward outreach, attachment, terrain, access and destination-market requirements together to narrow the suitable telehandler and load chart.

  • Maximum load weight and dimensions
  • Required vertical lift height
  • Required horizontal outreach
  • Attachment type
  • Ground, ramps and access conditions
  • Destination and emission requirement

Request a Telehandler Recommendation

Please include maximum load weight and dimensions, required lift height, horizontal reach, attachment requirement, ground and access conditions, engine or emission requirement, quantity and destination.
