Maintenance Methods For Warehouse Forklifts

Mar 09, 2025

‌Maintenance methods for warehouse forklifts‌ mainly include the following aspects:

‌Daily inspection‌:

‌Wear condition‌: Regularly check the wear degree of components such as load wheels, tires, brake pads, etc. If the wear is serious, it should be replaced in time to avoid adverse effects on the overall performance of the forklift‌.
‌Looseness‌: Check whether the connecting parts are loose, such as load wheels and frames, tire screws, etc. If looseness is found, it should be tightened immediately to ensure the stability and safety of the forklift‌.
‌Cleanliness‌: Keep the forklift clean, regularly remove dirt, oil and other impurities attached to the body, load wheels, tires and other components, reduce wear and friction resistance, and increase service life‌.
‌Oil leakage‌: Check whether the forklift has oil leakage. If found, the cause should be found and repaired in time‌.
‌Instrument display‌: Turn on the key switch after the power is turned on, and check whether all instrument lights are lit and extinguished normally to ensure that the instrument can display normally when there is an alarm signal‌.
‌Lubrication and maintenance‌:

‌Lubricant selection‌: Select lubricants suitable for the materials of load-bearing wheels, bearings and other components for lubrication, and ensure that the lubricants have good lubrication and anti-wear properties‌.
‌Lubrication cycle‌: According to the use frequency and working conditions of the forklift, a reasonable lubrication cycle is formulated. Under normal circumstances, it is recommended to lubricate the load-bearing wheels, bearings and other components regularly (such as weekly or monthly).
‌Lubrication method‌: Before lubrication, the surface of the component should be cleaned to ensure that there is no impurity adhesion, and then the lubricant is evenly applied to the rolling surface or friction surface of the component to ensure the lubrication effect‌.
‌Component replacement and maintenance‌:

‌Load-bearing wheel replacement‌: When the load-bearing wheel is worn to a certain extent or fails, a new load-bearing wheel should be replaced in time to ensure that the installation is firm and reliable‌.
‌Battery maintenance‌: Regularly check the battery charging status, electrolyte liquid level and connection status to ensure that the battery is charged normally, the electrolyte liquid level is within the standard range, and the connection is good‌.
‌Hydraulic oil replacement‌: Regularly replace the hydraulic oil to ensure the normal operation of the hydraulic system. When replacing the hydraulic oil, the fork frame on the mast should be completely lowered first, then the breather filter with the oil level gauge should be unscrewed, the oil level should be observed, and the hydraulic oil should be added or replaced until the upper limit mark of the oil gauge is reached.
‌Other maintenance measures‌:

‌Appearance inspection‌: Regularly check whether the body has scratches, rust or oil leakage, as these subtle details often reflect potential problems of the forklift.
‌Power system and transmission component inspection‌: Regularly check the engine oil, coolant and other liquid levels to ensure that they are within the normal range, and pay attention to the engine running sound to detect abnormalities in time.
‌Transmission system inspection‌: Check whether the gear oil of transmission components such as the gearbox and drive axle is clean and sufficient, and whether the gear shifting is smooth.
‌Electrical system inspection‌: Check whether the battery power, line connection is firm, and whether the signal devices such as lights and horns are working properly.
‌Tire inspection‌: Regularly check the tire pressure and wear, and replace aging or severely worn tires in time to maintain grip and reduce safety hazards.
