Feb 04, 2025

The tips for using a diesel forklift include detailed steps and precautions for starting, driving, operation and safety.

Starting steps and precautions
‌Check before starting‌: Make sure that the amount of coolant, oil and fuel is sufficient, the battery electrolyte level is appropriate, and the lights, body surface and tire pressure are good. Check key components such as the hydraulic system, battery status and tire pressure.
‌Starting steps‌:
Adjust the seat to a suitable position and fasten the seat belt.
Hold the steering wheel handle with your left hand and pull up the power switch handle with your right hand.
Insert the forklift key into the keyhole of the start switch and gently turn it 45 degrees to the right to start the engine.
After the engine starts, check whether various instruments (such as the fuel gauge, water temperature gauge, and oil pressure gauge) are normal.
‌Precautions‌:
The engine should be preheated at low temperature before starting, and avoid stepping on the accelerator hard to prevent the engine oil pressure from being too high.
The continuous start should not exceed two times, with an interval of 10-15 seconds between each start. If the start fails three times in a row, the maintenance personnel should be contacted.
Driving skills and safe operation specifications
Starting:
Confirm that the surroundings are safe, start slowly, and avoid sudden start and sudden braking.
Lower the forks and tilt the mast backward.
Driving speed: Drive at a speed that can stop safely and avoid speeding.
Turning and climbing: Reduce speed when turning, move forward when climbing, and drive backward when going downhill.
Parking: When parking, operate the parking handle first, work at idle speed for a few minutes, and turn off the engine after the spare parts are evenly cooled.
Other precautions:
Drive at a safe speed when working at night.
When leaving the forklift, you must pull the handbrake and remove the key.
Stop temporarily when crossing the aisle.
Avoid driving with passengers.
